Victoria Fanning, RN

Mindful guidance & caring connection

Welcome, friends.

My name is Victoria Fanning, and A Sacred Journey was born from the heart of my life’s work. I’ve been a nurse for more than 30 years, spending 14 of those years in hospice care. I’m also a certified End-of-Life Doula. What that really means is that I’ve had the privilege of being present with people and families during some of the most tender and sacred moments life gives us.

I’ve seen how easy it is for the end of life to feel overwhelming, lonely, or rushed. But I’ve also seen how, with compassion and presence, it can become a time of deep connection, love, and even peace. That’s why I do this work—because I believe no one should walk this path without being fully seen, honored, and cared for.

A Sacred Journey is my way of offering what I’ve carried from years at the bedside: gentle guidance, deep listening, and dignity for every step of the way.

If you’re here, it may mean you or someone you love is facing this passage. Please know—you don’t have to do it alone.

My services

End of Life Doula Support

Facing the end of life can feel overwhelming—for the person who is dying and for the family who loves them. An end-of-life doula brings calm, guidance, and presence during this sacred passage. I provide support emotionally, spiritually, and practically: from helping families understand what to expect, to creating a comforting environment, to sitting in vigil during the final hours. Sometimes that means listening deeply, sometimes it’s helping with legacy projects or rituals, and other times it’s simply holding a hand in silence.

My role is not medical—it is human. I walk with you through the unknown so no one has to face it alone. With tenderness and respect, I help create space for peace, dignity, and love to be the center of this journey.

Coaching and Companionship

Illness, aging, and caregiving can bring big emotions and big questions. Through coaching and companionship, I offer a safe space to talk openly about fears, hopes, and choices. Together, we explore ways to ease the weight of uncertainty, strengthen coping, and find meaning in the midst of change.

This can be as simple as sitting together over tea, or as practical as helping families plan for what’s ahead. Sometimes it looks like encouragement and gentle guidance; other times, it’s steady presence when life feels heavy. However it unfolds, my intention is to remind you that you are not alone, and that there can still be connection and peace even in difficult seasons.

Basic Homecare

My basic home care services are here to make life a little lighter. This care is for anyone who could use a helping hand, whether you’re managing the challenges of aging, recovering from illness/surgery, or simply looking for extra support to make daily life easier. By taking care of the everyday tasks, I help create space for peace, connection, and well-being, so families and loved ones can focus on what matters most.

Workshops and Experiential Learning

In addition to individual support, I offer workshops for hospices, libraries, community groups, and families. These gatherings are rooted in experiential learning—not just talking about end-of-life care, but inviting participants to step into reflection, practice, and presence in ways that can be deeply transformative.

Some offerings include “The Last 48 Hours with a Silent Challenge,” interactive discussions on family caring for family at home, and teachings from my developing framework, The 7 Pillars of Compassionate End-of-Life Care. Each workshop blends education with lived experience, helping people feel more prepared, more connected, and more at peace in the face of life’s most profound transition.
